LNWR Coach Body

LNWR Coach Body cut from Styrene of varying thicknesses in 7mm/ft.

The coach body side and bolections are cut from 0.5mm styrene while the beading is cut from 0.25mm thick.

The coach itself is built around an internal box structure made from 1.0mm styrene. This method of construction was used by David Jenkinson and is described in detail in his book "Carriage Modelling Made Easy ISBN 1 874103 32 1". Although this book appears to be out of print it can still be obtained at Motor Books (UK) or 3mmScale Model Railways amongst others.

Two views of the coach without the roof. These show the internal box construction upon which formers are glued to form the "tumble home" (curved sides) of the outside walls of the coach.

A view of the underside of the coach roof. It is constructed entirely of styrene laser cut components.
